ATLAS Space Operations Represents Michigan at America’s Small Business Development Showcase

Washington, D.C. – Jan. 27, 2020 – ATLAS Space Operations, Inc., a leading innovator in ground communications for the space industry, has been selected to represent the Michigan Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the America’s SBDC Network showcase event in Washington, D.C. The showcase will highlight ATLAS’s development and growth since its inception.

At the showcase, ATLAS Space Operations will join other small businesses from around the country, representing SBDCs from 10 different states and celebrating the success of America’s SBDC Program.

“It is an honor to be chosen as a key exemplar of who the SBDC assists,” said Mike Carey, Chief Strategy Officer at ATLAS Space Operations, who will be in attendance at the showcase. “We’ve done hard work at ATLAS and are growing at an amazing rate, so we’re excited to receive this recognition.”

Over the last year alone, ATLAS has supported numerous client space missions, including those for BlackSky Global and NOAA, added new partners like Aevum and Quintillion, added AWS functionality to its cloud platform, expanded its land footprint to 13 ground station sites, and collaborated with the military to further develop some of its communications products.

“SBDCs provide vital management and technical resources so that small businesses can get started, create jobs, access capital, grow sales and prosper,” said Charles “Tee” Rowe, America’s SBDC President & CEO. “ATLAS Space Operations has been a wonderful partner in Michigan and is the perfect example of what SBDCs can help small businesses achieve.”
