Job Description:

ATLAS is searching for a Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Systems Field Technician. Key responsibilities include designing, installing and sustaining Satellite Communications (SATCOM) ground station (i.e. teleport) systems to meet company satellite communications network performance objectives. Tasks include analyzing internal and customer support requirements, developing system/sub-system specifications, synthesizing SATCOM solutions, generating and executing teleport development plans, creating design products and conducting network and ground site lifecycle management tasks.

Our Field Technicians are responsible for the full SATCOM station site lifecycle, from installation, test, operations, sustainment and retirement. This position interfaces with customers, product vendors, service providers and co-workers to align efforts with company priorities and in accordance with project milestones and constraints. The position requires extensive travel to site locations. Field technicians are expected to be highly self reliant, able to resolve unforeseen issues in austere environments with limited external support. The Field Technician must have the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute satellite communications teleport installations
  • Support satellite communications operations to provide service to ATLAS customers
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on satellite communications teleport systems
  • Generate varied site design products such as system & sub-system specifications, CONOPS diagrams, site, system drawings and test plans/reports.
  • Act as a self starter in creating quality and responsive solutions meeting company and customer satellite communications technical and operational network performance requirements.
  • Actively participate in and/or lead projects as assigned in order to achieve company goals
  • Plans and executes shipping and related logistics tasks to support field development activities; Works with shipping companies to ensure ATLAS equipment is available on time for site buildout and sustainment needs
  • Work closely with ATLAS network operations staff to develop and validate operations policies and procedures.
  • Engage and coordinate with 3rd party vendors to acquire material and/or service solutions required to meet teleport buildout and network requirements
  • Execute terminal system setup, configuration, and testing
  • Conduct system anomaly investigation and resolution to support network operations
  • Create and maintain user and in-house technical documentation
  • Create and maintain knowledge base articles / technical notes as solutions are identified
  • Provide training and guidance to new team members
  • Prioritize time and projects, working independently

Skills / Qualifications:

  • 5 years experience in SATCOM systems design, installation, operations, test, and sustainment
  • Hands on experience installing, operating and sustaining SATCOM RF components (LNAs, HPAs, power supplies, vector analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc)
  • Possess a practical understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) communications technology, systems, practices and tools
  • Experience in designing and implementing supporting SATCOM antenna infrastructure, i.e. foundation/structure support, electrical service installation, network access
  • Knowledge of SATCOM network operations with an understanding of best practices
  • Written and verbal communication skills
    Ability to troubleshoot system issues in a timely manner with minimal assistance
  • Requires analytical and problem solving skills to analyze data, do research, diagnose and solve problems
  • Experience working with Microsoft office or Google Suite tools
  • Aptitude to understand and adopt online collaboration tools and design/program management applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, particularly in teams
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility to work as required to meet company milestones
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
  • Availability and willingness to travel extensively in support of site buildout, operation and sustainment activities

Job Description:

ATLAS is looking for a Software Developer Engineer with expertise in User Interfaces/User Experience to expand the skillsets of our diverse software team. In this role, you will leverage programming and design skills to create front-end GUIs to visualize and control the ATLAS Freedom System, including: goals/flex based constellation scheduling, ground site hardware control, realtime/postpass RF chain workflows, and many more. You must possess an analytical mind to pursue a deep understanding of the needs of the ATLAS system users, as well as internal users, to create an interface that enhances the product experience. You will also have opportunities to conduct Research & Development on projects acquired through government funded Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grants.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement the Freedom User Interface (internal and customer facing)
  • Develop software features to support the ATLAS mission
    Building codebase with consideration for maintainability and deployability
  • Researching implementation strategies and assessing new technologies
  • Champion new software projects to enhance the ATLAS product
  • Test and peer review code for quality assurance
  • Document software features for the customer
  • Perform user interviews to collect and assess potential features

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development and user interface design/creation
  • Strong front end UI skills in any of the various framework combinations (Bootstrap, React.js, Angular.js, Vue.js, Ember, etc)
  • Websocket integration
  • Experienced interfacing with a variety of data sources: SQL, NoSQL, RESTful APIs, etc.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and organized
  • Must possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Coding skills in Java, Python, and/or other languages
  • Experience in RESTful Web Services
  • Experience with Spring Boot Framework
  • Degree and/or body of work in graphic design

Job Description:

ATLAS is searching for a self motivated and experienced space professional to deliver solutions for our customers through highly effective leadership of cross-functional teams. Key duties include acting as the senior link between ATLAS and stakeholders, requirements identification, schedule, cost, and risk management, and project integration. This position requires an understanding of satellite ground network operations and the technical requirements of supported spacecraft and launch vehicles. Program managers also support business development and sales activities by providing schedule and cost analysis. The global nature of ATLAS operations often requires program managers to accommodate duty hours of customers and activities located in different time zones.

Essential Duties:

  • Act as primary customer contact. Lead, promote and ensure customer success. Lead program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance of services.
  • Measure program performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Identify challenges and support cross-functional team managers to create solutions and ensure program success
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage day to day business of assigned programs
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Attend meetings, summarize discussions, identify follow-on actions and disseminate reports

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical or business discipline and 10 years’ directly related work experience with a minimum of five years of management experience
  • Satellite operations or satellite ground network experience
  • Experience in managing executive customer relationships. This individual must possess strong team building capabilities and have solid interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience managing teams, resolving resource constraints / schedule conflicts and providing effective project oversight.
  • Proficiency in planning, scheduling, risk management, requirements management, budget planning and execution
  • Ability to travel (as required)
  • Must be a US Citizen

Desired Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Knowledge of Agile, SCRUM, and SCORE methodologies
  • Experience with JIRA Issue & Project Management Software
  • Data mining and analysis skills
  • Broad understanding of U.S. Government space operations
